Our mission is to revive the cotton textile industry in Nigeria to continue to build a more prosperous Africa.

Focusing on a mindset shift and behavioural change we aim to regenerate ecosystems, leading to social regeneration

Our Mission

Our vision begins with a t-shirt, sold around the world. The revenue generated from sales is reinvested to source state-of-the-art cotton seeds with higher germination rates, and genetics more suitable to best support the Nigerian cotton sector. Resulting in the revival of the cotton textile garment industry in Nigeria.

Adopting a “buy one give one” model, consumers will be supporting the sale and distribution of high-quality cottonseed to Nigerian cotton farms via Yield Initiatives.

Yield Initiatives is dedicated to advancing sustainability in Africa and building a more prosperous society through education and upskilling farmers and workers in the cotton industry. It’s time to break the systemic barriers and bring the once-thriving industry back to Africa.

Conscious individuals that contribute to Yield Initiatives’ cause are helping make a difference.

Sustainability will always be second to survival, but in building farmers’ resilience through higher-yielding crops, improving water access, and financing issues, opportunities for better, more sustainable, land care will follow.

We believe the world is ready for Nigerian-inspired fashion, and with an eye towards traditional batik designs, we will produce t-shirts with a sustainable story, and we will sell these garments to individuals around the world that care about raising standards of living for Nigerian farm families.

Working across 6 states in Nigeria.

Yield Initiatives will be working across six states in Nigeria surrounding Central Savannah.

Ebonyi, Edo, Adamawa, Gombe, Ogun, Kaduna.

With our direct-to-farmer sourcing strategy, we will provide world-class cottonseed genetics to Nigerian cotton farmers of sufficient quality and quantity of seed.

80% of life is below ground.

The aim is to educate and train the farmers in cotton quality matters so that they can better evaluate and sell their crops.

Training, education and knowledge shared with cotton farmers are crucial to the development of the industry in Nigeria.

Support Required

In order to truly transform the supply chain in Nigeria, greater levels of investment are necessary, particularly for field-level programmes.

We inspire to have partners from Philanthropic funding, impact investment and government funding to better support farmers and meet their needs in a rapidly changing world.

Partners

More heads are better than one.

We are looking for high-calibre partners that are reimagining and creating a future that’s brighter, and who are willing to share their expertise or knowledge and collaborate with Yield Initiatives.

We would also love to work with existing initiatives, to strengthen synergies and work in harmony with them.
